Neutrality

A data layer that does not compete with what you build

A legal AI application that licenses its data from a vendor that also sells an application is funding a competitor and depending on it. When that vendor is acquired, the licence is what the acquirer decides it is. Antecedint is built so that neither of those things can happen, and the commitments below are terms in the licence rather than a page on a website.

No application, ever

Antecedint sells retrieval as an API and an MCP server. It does not ship a research product, a drafting tool, a chatbot or any other application someone might build on that retrieval. The people building on it make the product; Antecedint supplies the data layer under it.

A non-compete covenant in every data licence

The commitment above is a term of the licence, not a statement of intent. Every data licence carries a covenant that Antecedint will not offer an application competing with the licensee in the market the licence covers.

A change-of-control covenant in every data licence

The covenant survives an acquisition. If Antecedint changes hands, the licensee keeps the same terms for the remaining term of the licence, and the non-compete binds the acquirer. A vendor that is neutral until it is bought is not neutral.

The same terms for every integrator

Every application that licenses the data layer gets the same price list, the same rate limits, the same benchmark access and the same covenants. No integrator is offered a corpus, a model or an accuracy tier another cannot have.

What this does not promise

Neutrality is about who Antecedint sells to and what it will not build. It is not a claim about coverage. The corpora page states what is loaded and what is not, and the benchmark states accuracy only where a public judgement exists to measure it against.
